If you click brushes at the top of the books page, it will take you to the same place as if you clicked brushes from the top of the paints page. This makes navigation easier for you the user.

If you keep losing the contents of your shopping cart, do the following:
Go to Tools->Internet Options
Click on "Settings"
Click on "View Files"
Click on the word "Name" at the top of the first column. That will sort your cookies by name.
Scroll down until you see a file named 'Store'. Right click on it and delete it.
Scroll down again until you see a file named "user_cart". If it is there, right click it and delete it also.
Then try ordering again. Order an item, look at your cart, continue shopping, order a second item and look at your cart again. If they are both there, it is fixed. If not, do the next step.

Find the section called 'Temporary Internet files' & click the button that says 'Delete Files'. Check the box that says "Delete all offline content" click OK
This will clear all the temporary files that web pages put on your computer.

If your browser is FIREFOX, make sure it is switched to IE.
